Recipes of the Week

WWFHC knows that nutrition is important to everyone’s overall health and well-being. With a grant from the DMC Foundation, we have opened a teaching kitchen at our Inkster location. We offer various classes there, most open to anyone. Details about courses are available at each center and on the WWFHC Facebook page. And with the grant, until May of 2017, we will be making each recipe and offering samples to patients and visitors at the Inkster center during designated hours.

For 52 weeks we will post a recipe (or two versions if the recipe contains nuts or other allergens) on Sunday both on this website and on our Facebook page. We hope you try them and enjoy eating the food. The recipes all are meant to have healthy ingredients that are affordable, and are seasonal-taking advantage of fruits and vegetables that are easy to find and low priced at certain times of the year. They are all appropriate for people who are not on a special diet, but all are low in fat, sodium and sugar.
